  • FAA HAS A NEW WEBSITE
Fitchburg Public Schools has invested in a new website for all the public schools in Fitchburg located at [ www.fitchburgschools.org ]. All the schools will have the same look and feel. You can find your school by clicking on the "Our Schools" tab. FAA's new site is located at [ faa.fitchburgschools.org ]. Since the new site is still under construction we will continue to run this site. As we get things moved over to the new site, we will be removing them from here. We apologize for any inconvenience and ask that you bear with us during this transition. If you have any questions, please call the school at (978) 665-3662.

  • STUDENT COUNCIL HALLOWEEN DANCE
The dance will be held in the cafe from 6-8 pm on Friday, October 28th with food (for a small price, most items priced under a dollar), games and a DJ. Tickets cost $5 and they will accept money at the door. There will be a costume contest and a pumpkin carving contest. If people wish to participate in the pumpkin carving contest they should carve a pumpkin at home and bring it to the dance. We will have the battery operated candles to place in them. Only FAA students are allowed to attend this dance and all students should have a ride home promptly at 8 pm.

  • FAA PTO GO GREEN FUNDRAISER
The FAA PTO will be sending home with students on Friday, October 21st information about our one and only fundraiser for the year. You can also read more about our fundraiser [ here ], download the flyer or make a donation online. We look forward to having a very successful year.

The physicals will be held at Fitchburg High School and will run from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Athletes must have a school physical form filled out and signed by a parent or guardian in order to receive an exam on either of these dates. Forms may be obtained at Fitchburg High School or on the Fitchburg High School web page under Athletics then forms.

Football practice will begin on Thursday, August 25 at 5:00 PM at Crocker Field. All other sports will begin on the first day of school on Monday, August 29, starting at 4:00 PM.

  • TRANSPORTATION
    • Parent Morning Drop Off - Parents should drop off their children in the rear parking lot off of North Street at the entrance to the building. There will be staff member present to greet you. Students should arrive no earlier than 8:00 am because there is no supervision and they will not be allowed in the building.
    • Parent Pick Up - Students will be dismissed at 2:15 PM at Entrance A in the front of the building off of Rindge Road. Parents should enter the parking area through the second entrance and take a left through the parking area. You can start parking at the curb and continue to line up through the parking area. We ask that you use caution since this parking area is used also by McKay and the Fitchburg State College. Please do not call your child to you in the parking area. For the safety of your child we asked that you wait to pick up your child at the curb. Once you have your child continue down the parking lot and out the way you came in.

  • MCAS PARENT REPORT ONLINE TUTORIAL
MCAS Parent Reports will now include growth model data. We recognize that this is a new, and somewhat confusing system, that may leave many parents with questions. To help address that need the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has developed an online tutorial geared specifically for parents. The tutorial is in powerpoint format with audio, but requires no special software to use. The tutorial is posted at
    [ www.doe.mass.edu/mcas/growth/tutorial2.html ]
. Parents can also obtain more information about MCAS at [ www.doe.mass.edu/mcas/ ].
